Potion Pets

Hey Everyone

Guess what?! I and my team ‘ALTered Method’ have made a game for Android and iOS devices called Potion Pets.

In the last 3 months, I have been an intern at Octopus 8 Studios creating art for the game Potion Pets. In this game, you pick a pet that will be your companion and helper for your potion making and delivering service.

You can play with and train your pet in order to prepare potions and prepare them for deliveries, customize your house and guide your pet as they bring the potions to your clients. All with art provided by yours truly.

As you play you unlock new pets and upgrade their toys and items for better training.

The game is gonna come out on Monday, 10th of August 2015.
Check out the Octopus 8 Studios website for more information as it get’s released. And while your there, check out the other games made by the teams I worked side by side with.

Environment Concept Art

I had my first go at creating environmental concept art. The theme I wanted to explore was a post-modern, lost civilization story. I looked at old abandoned Japanese theme parks and railways to help me reference what I wanted my world to look like. The images try to tell a story of our own modern civilization being discovered many centuries in the future by the current inhabitants of the planet.

It was also a chance to play around with perspective so I tried to give each image a different viewpoint. I felt like I improved my technique with each image I finished and improved my layer management or found out about a new drawing technique.

Probably one of the most enjoyable assignment I ever completed.

Adapting TMy o Other Styles

I participated in an exercise where you try to draw yourself in the style of another game's art. I'm a big fan of Mortis Ghost's game 'OFF' so I wanted to turn myself in a creature that could inhabit his world.

Animation 'Search for Home'

This year I chose the animation module where me and a team would have to create a maximum of 5 minute animation. I love animation and have been making little gifs such as these for fun:
These are rice ball versions of the characters form the show Hetalia

I've always wanted to try making an animated short film so I was happy to do the work needed.
I was in charge of making the key frames, in between frames and some of the environmental animations. Even though I did enjoy making the film, I wish we had more time to fix things up and include a scene that was cut due to time restraints.

This is the final version on the animation that was submitted:
Apologies for not the best quality.

Global Game Jam 2015

I participated in the Global Game Jam again this year with the theme "What do we do now?". Me and my team also used the 'Stephen Hawking Can Play This' Diversifier which meant that the whole game and menu can be controlled with one button.

This is out game: Temporal Mouse Run

I was in charge of creating all the art for the game including the title image and the credits image where out whole team have embraced the way of the mouse.

Feel free to download it form the Global Game Jam website at http://globalgamejam.org/2015/games/temporal-mouse-run
